Gold Coast (Part 1)

HELLO!! As that title suggests, I am gonna be updating about my trip to Gold Coast that happened last week. Daaaaaang, it has been 4 days since I am back in sunny (and humid) Singapore. Oh my god, I don't even wanna start talking about the weather here. It's getting on my nerves?! The weather there was sooo shiok. It felt as though I was carrying an aircon on my back. But it gets pretty cold in the night (or when the sun sets at abut 4PM, cos its winter), especially when the wind blowsssss. Back to the trip... I'll be splitting the trip up into 4 or 5 posts because there just too many pictures. As i'm typing here, my YouTube page is open as i've already edited and compiled the videos taken on the first 3 days of my trip! I promise i'll be back with the other parts of the trip soon (that's if I don't get carried away with the new Hong Kong drama i'm gonna start heheheh)

Bear with me ok! I'll try my best to have some captions and give as much information as I can!

$1AUD X 1.2 = SGD $1
Brisbane's timing is 2 hours ahead of Singapore's

Day 1 -10th/11th June

Flight > Hotel > Habour Town > Dinner > Night Market

Dinner and breakfast served on board because my flight was at 8PM (SG time) and arrived at Brisbane at 5AM (Brisbane time)

Had a 2 hour ride from Brisbane International Airport to Surfers Paradise, Gold Coast where our hotel was located. Checked-in at Hotel Grand Chancellor and rested a lil while before having breakfast and settling the simcard stuff. Pretty awesome location. There were many hotels around but this was good enough for our 5 days stay. Its just a 5 mins walk to the beach, and there were many food shops around. Even clubs hahah so I guess Gold Coast isn't that boring if you enjoy night life la (shopping centres closes early- as early as 4PM on Sundays. And I mean Brisbane's time, so its like 2PM in SG?) Oh, the hotel is also connected to a mini shopping centre where a supermarket (woolsworths supermarket) is available too. Super convenient!

As for the overseas data, Optus will be a better telco as compared to Vodafone. Don't sign up with Singtel for SGD$15 or SGD$20 a day hor, super not worth it. For Optus, you pay $2AUD for a day with a usage of 500MB data and unlimited calls + text messages to any Australian number. Damn good? I have to survive with 3GB for a month lor. So anyway, I paid a total of $12AUD for (idk if its 5 or 6 days)... If it's 5 then $2 for the registration of simcard which is okkkkkk. 6 days then iPhone sucks?? On Monday 12midnight, both my mother and my data was being cut off... but for the samsung users, even before we flew off they still had data? What nonsense!! But ya, optus doesn't have a minimum top-up, unlike Vodafone, you have to buy a min. of $30AUD for the first time.

You can find out more using this link! If you're staying around the area where I stayed, you'll be able to spot this phone shop. Its located right beside the tourist information counter. The salespeople there are very friendly and will help you set everything up so no worries!

Took a bus down from the hotel to Habour Town Outlet, which was about a 20mins ride. Oh yes, they use an ex-link too. Just head down to the tourist information counter and they will advise you on the fare and all. You have to put a deposit and top up whatever amount. But you'll get back the deposit and the balance when you don't wanna use the card anymore! So anyway, HTO was quite a boring place...... I expected it to be like Florida's outlet shopping with all the branded goods like juicy, gucci and all but kuakuakua, I guess Aussie brands are not appealing at all. More of a sporty kinda of look, or some where damn chapalang. All I got was an iPhone cover that costed $3AUD and I was the biggest spender. Felt like I wasted my day there.................... I won't recommend you to visit this place. However, when there's sales, its dirt cheap. Some can cost like what $2?? But eew la the fashion. And the sizes will be either UK4 or like UK16/18.

Bingchuan recommended this Churros which was just below my hotel.... and I must say its damn good and yumzzzz. Had this (or baskin robbins) almost every night. Ahhh craving for it already. If i'm not wrong there's a branched that was recently opened in Orchard Central or something. Gonna try one day hehe.

We met my dad's friends who frequently come down to SG at least thrice a year. They reside in Melbourne but so nice of them to fly to Gold Coast just to spend time with us for three days or so. They had Fish and Chips for dinner, but I had beef burger instead hahahahah I just had to be special #problemacticchild After that we proceeded to the night market held by the beach. It was nice walking in such weather but again, there was nothing to buy..... I prefer Singapore's Pasar Malam because of all the food. I guess home is where the heart is yeah. Went to the supermarket to get some groceries and junks before turning in early for the night because the next day was a looooong one.

Part 2 coming soon!!!
