Spent my Thursday night with my cousins at Regina's boyfriend -Hogan, and his bff, newly opened food place. A place where you can chill with your friends over a few drinks and some sides. Of course there are main dishes too, and as the place says, order their tapas! There's also a TV which screens soccer. But be sure to call and make a reservation to avoid any disappointments or frustration. The place is quite small and like I said since you can just chill there, the crowd will definitely not leave immediately after they finish up their food.
Check out their Facebook and their Instagram (#26tapasbar) for more details/ picture! Here are reviews of the dishes we ordered.

The prices are quite reasonable especially their shots?!?!?!?!!?
DIPS
★★★★☆
Basically if you don't know what truffle fries is, its just fries cooked with truffle oil and sprinkled with cheese. The cheesy smell was rather strong but I am a cheese lover so I was fine with it. I would recommend this side because it was quite shiokkkk to munch on!
★☆☆☆☆
This is my first time trying spam fries… I was totally clueless on what spam fries was until I asked my cousin what was it after she ordered. So she told me is was luncheon meat sliced into strips like fries….. I wound't order this the next time round because it's just ordinary luncheon meat like nasi lemak kind, really. See I told you this post will be based on my honest opinions, I wouldn't be so bias. Price wise, yup not worth it for luncheon meat at all. Oopppz. This was probably the only dish that was a "disappointment"
PASTAS
★★★★★
WOAHHHHHHHH loving this dish even though I pinched a little from Rowena. I love it cos it wasn't too oily. You know some places which serves aglio olio, it will be damn oily which will eventually make you feel damn sick to even continue to eat. Hehe but the main reason why I love it is because of the chilli paid!!!!!!! I LOVE LOVE LOVE LOVE SPICY FOOD, The spicier the better…. so it you can't stand the level of spiciness or hate the taste of chilli, I don't suggest that you order this pasta. BUT IF YOU LOVE CHILLI PLEASE ORDER IT!!!!!!!!!
★★★★★
This is another pasta that you should order. Even though it is creamed base, there isn't much milky/creamy taste. A good thing because if the milky taste is too strong, you will eventually get damn sian of eating, cos too "jerlak"? Didn't get to try the soft-shell crab but Marilyn was telling us that it was good!!!
PIZZAS
Crust was a little too hard but maybe it became cold and also because its thin crust….? All's good though.
★★★☆☆
As the name suggests, yup there is 3 different kind of pork which act as the topping for the pizza- pork belly, crispy bacon and char siew. Quite a unique pizza because it was my first time seeing 3 different kind of pork on a pizza, or rather this is my first pork pizza ever hahha. However it was a lil dry….. it would be better with more sauce! I think one of my cousins did not like it as it was too meaty. Hmmmm I am a pork lover so it was okay for me.
★★★☆☆
Duck pizza but it was different from Timbre's!! I personally prefer Timbre's duck pizza because I like it with more sauce. I also would choose popiah skin over wanton skin. The wanton skin was kinda oily, which made the entire pizza oily, hence it was "jerlak". The smoked duck was sliced a tad too big, I would prefer it to be in smaller and thinner slices. Overall, not a bad pizza, can try!!
TAPAS
★★★★☆
Mmmmmm a tapas that I would recommend!!! I can't really describe the taste to you because I literally just stuff the entire thing into my mouth. I could taste the smoked duck and the sauce that comes with it though.
No rating because…. I DON'T EAT MUSHROOM. Omg the moment this was placed on the table, I wanted to puke. The mushroom smell so strong. I think it's nice though. Eunice Annabel who visited 26 Tapas Bar twice love this stuff mushroom so muchhhh. Oh maybe you can look out for Marilyn's blog and check out what are her views on this dish?
★★☆☆☆
Recommended by Regina… It was not bad, but I feel it tasted bait normal like maybe any other steaks I eat at western food or even Japanese Teppanyaki. It was a lil cold when we were served so I think can be served while its hotterrrrrr. The black pepper sauce should be more peppery too! The cubes were soft and chewy, which was just the right texture to chew on. However if you don't like the taste of beef, don't order it because it's quite beefy, not like some beef which can pass off as deer meat.
CIDARS
★★★★★
Rowen's cider on the left and Charmaine's cider on the right. Tasted both and it was good but I prefer the wild fruit one! Heyyyy I heard you were the wild oneeeeeeeeeee~ Toffee Apple is mixed with cream soda, smouldering toffee as well as apple. As for the Wild Fruit, blueberries, raspberries and blackberries were combined together. Nothing ever goes wrong with berries!
SHOTS
The shots are this month's special and will change very month. Here are the two special shots of 26 Tapas Bar.
★★★★☆
The alcohol (I think its Vodka) will be poured into the glass with cotton candy, which makes the cotton candy melt and blend in with the alcohol. Drink it in one mouth since its called shots for a reason right? Hmmm, I don't think the alcohol percentage was high but it was definitely stronger than the next shot that I will be introducing. The after-taste was more bitter but it only lingered for maybe 1 minute or so la. Interesting combination of candy floss and alcohol!
★★★★★
As mentioned above, the taste of the alcohol wasn't that strong as compared to the candy floss ones. You see that pink crystals there? If you're a 90s kid I think you would know what candy pops are! For people who don't know, we used to dip a lollipop into the packet which contains these magical crystals. Why magical?? Because it pops when placed on your tongue. So for this, you don't actually pour the melon flavoured alcohol into the glass which contains the pop. You'd first place the pops into your mouth and immediately drink the shot!!! Hehe love it because there would be this popping sensation, like a party happening in your mouth and your guests are just blowing poppers and throwing confetti all over.
Thats it for all the reviews. Overall, the 5 of us paid approximately $46 each. There isn't any 7% GST but there's a 10% service charge. I would definitely go back to try the other dishes which I didn't get to try. I wanted to order the seared scallop under the tapas cos it sounds so yummyyyyyyy but it wasn't available. I would also want to try the pasta with pomodoro base (I guess its tomato base, just using a nicer word) and maybe the new shots of the month so perhaps re-visiting in may? Heheh
Overal rating: ★★★★★ I am not being bias here laaaa but look at the reviews, on average its 3 stars and above. Good ambience, good food. What's there more to ask for?
Before I end this post, 26 Tapas Bar is having a promotion as their opening special which lasts until the end of this month. So what are you waiting for, do visit them within the remaining days of April and not miss the promotion!
