Teresa's 18th Birthday

Since I have just painted my nails and waiting for them to be completely dry before I can sleep, I've decided not to be lazy and shall update with pictures from Teresa's 18th birthday celebration. 

The day before the celebration, I suddenly had the feel to bake. It was pretty late in the night already. Thankfully I had all the ingredients that were needed at home so yup, I started baking! I decided to make a rainbow cake..

5 layers to be exact... The next time round I am gonna bake more layers. Perhaps both the lighter and darker shades of the various colours? It is gonna be so damn pretty hheheeh

I used Nutella as a spread in between the layes. The cake looks damn gross now but I will show you how pretty the outcome is. Oh btw the cake mix is made from scratch.... I baked the red velvet cake for Shi Qing's birthday but this time round I decided to use a normal white cake's recipe because Nutella as icing will sweeten the cake. (I added my own colouring, obviously..)

I was pretty exhausted from baking the 5 different layers (really must have good patience) and also from the washing up. So the "icing" for the entire cake was done on the actual day of the celebration. I woke up early.... I am willing to sacrifice my sleeping time for my dear friends haha. Initially, I wanted to use kit-kats as the boarder but I didn't have enough kit-kats at home. I was short of 4 bars? Yeah, I unwrapped the kit-kat and arranged them. I didn't waste them la, I removed them and placed them back in a container. Soooooo, I had many of the wafer sticks at home and I did an estimation.... I cut them into halves and tadahhhhh! Those wafer sticks really go well with the overall taste of the cake because of the Nutella. 

I also did the icing on the actual day itself. Really damn hard to make successful icing. I had to leave the mixture to mix for about 20 minutes before it became light and fluffy. But I am so happy with the outcome of the icing as I could pipe them out nicely with the different piping tips. The pattern came out well when I piped them out. Can you see those pink flowers? I'm sorry for that poop design in the center though. I was trying to be artistic but I guess it failed.....

I also printed out those triangles and made them into a banner to poke into the cake!!

Super proud of myself because when we cut the cake, strangers stopped by to look. Even the waitress asked where did we bought the cake from. Heheheheheh and the girls said I could open an insta shop and take orders when i'm free to earn some moooolah. I think I will!! But I have to try more recipes soon 8) The girls also craved for my cake a few days later woooooo~ 

Heading on will be the dinner part.. We planned this surprise with Teresa's boyfriend, Ian. Aiyo so sweet leh sometimes I wish I wouldn't be single on my birthday hahah (but though I am single, my 18th birthday was well spent!!!) The plan was to book Koh Grill and Sushi Bar at Wisma Atria but it was fully booked. The other option was Itacho Sushi at Ion but for booking, one person has to spent at least $50...? We had 8 people in total, so we have to spend $400?? RIDICULOUS. So, we settled for Ma Masion at Bugis+. This restaurant serves a mixture of Japanese and Aloha/Western cuisine. Prices for the food were reasonable and food was of good quality (except the beef cubes I ate... a lil too tough). Whats more, we were given a 20% discount because it was ladies night.... Yes, on a Monday instead of Wednesday. As long as you have a lady in the group, you will receive this benefit off the total bill!

As usual..... the whole group will never be punctual together...

Arranged the cake before the star arrived but the surprise failed a little.. Because Teresa saw Shi Qing at the MRT station, and when Teresa called for Shi Qing she ignore hahahaahah typical Shi Qing. And then she saw Yuet Tung and Yong Xin too, so she kind of guessed it. Still, we were so glad she was a lil surprised and super happy!! (also because she feels happy when we talk to her boyfriend)

Happy belated 18th birthday my dear Teresa. Knowing you was a blessing and it still is. You're a kind hearted and caring girl.. Thats good but don't let people take advantage of you ok!!! I WILL PROTECT YOU. You are damnnnnnnnnnnn cute and small I want to pinch you hehehe. Anyway I hope you enjoyed yourself and last forever with Ian!! I LOVE YOU TER!!!

Ok, I took one hour with this post and my nails are dry! Anyway, i'm heading to BKK in less than 12 hours and will be back only on Friday.. So I guess I won't update...? I'll see how. I AM SO FREAKING EGGCITED TO SHOPPPPPPPPPPPPPPP.
